Watson's Wisdoms - how to get rid of scammers

Watson's Wisdoms - how to get rid of scammers

As promised, our cat detective Watson answers viewer's questions.

What to do when an operater calls you and says you won something, you got a discount, that your crypto portfolio that you didn't even know it exists, jumped 10.000% and you just tell them the number of your account so that they can pay you dividends? Why is it the wisest thing to di just to hang up? Whatever your "operater" is talking about and tries to persuade you to give your personal and bank data, in the background there is also a computer, recording your reactions. The longer the conversations lasts, the more you are flagged as a "potential" and these calls will be more and more frequent. If you hang up quickly, however, you probably won't be incluted in your next "wave" of calls. The scammers buy a database - if you are in it, they will call. If you are not, there won't be a call. One way to check if your call was a scam: When they call you back, it will most probably be from another phone number. Remember: the sooner you disconnect the call the better. If you talk to the scammer, it will not do any good, and surely you won't make him repend and quit his scamming job.
